Riverboat, Stage 3

Tonight I got the bulk of the ground cover in, plus some sky and water. Ended up scrapping the first bit of weeds I’d added, opting for doing them as natural brush strokes. Dang, that’s tedious.

I like that the ship at this stage is cyclopean. It looks as if the ship is waiting to disgorge whatever foulness lurks inside it or to consume that which ambles to close to its gaping maw.

Exactly. The original sketch didn’t have that feel at all. But it just sort of happened as the ink and colors went in. Happy accidents.
